Drilling

Currently EMG have drilling operations on-going on three continents ranging from wireline exploration coring in West Africa to large diameter wireline coring in the UK and site investigation drilling in the Caribbean. We specialise in offering high quality services with full Health and Safety compliance.

Our drilling department is lead by some of the most experienced drillers in the industry with an average of over 35 years of experience each in all types of drilling on all continents.

We currently have a variety of plant and equipment suitable for all scales of operation from lightweight tracked rigs to large lorry mounted wireline rigs, complete with comprehensive packages for most projects. As well as providing full drilling contracting services we also supply drilling staff on a consultancy basis to assist or troubleshoot on our Clients projects. Geotechnical & Geological Consultancy Services

EMG geologists and geotechnical engineers have wide ranging experience of geotechnical and geo-environmental projects worldwide associated with both mining and civil engineering infrastructure. We specialise in providing high quality geotechnical design information from remote locations where specialised drilling and testing facilities are not available in the country.

Geotechnical Mine Assessment EMG offers a full range of high quality Geological and Geotechnical Consultancy services to support mining operations from feasibility stage to remedial works. Our services include:

Geotechnical stability assessment – of existing underground and open pit mines and quarries;
3D Photographic mapping and structural geological analysis of underground and open pit mines and quarries;

Sirovision

Geotechnical Contracting Services

In addition to consulting, EMG provides a broad range of geotechnical contracting services and equipment that can be mobilised worldwide:

'Sirovision' structural data collection systems – suitable for above and under-ground remote geotechnical mapping;
Tailings assessment – high quality sampling and cone penetration testing (CPT) to assess tailings consolidation, chemistry and geotechnical characteristics;
Geotechnical drilling – lightweight rigs suitable for airfreight / containerisation instrumented with CPT and parameter measurement while drilling technology;
Containerised laboratory testing facilities – including geotechnical and contamination testing;
In-situ testing equipment – to improve data acquired by local drilling equipment (wireless piezocone and Marchetti Dilatometer);
Engineering geophysics – MASW shear wave to allow determination of ground stiffness. Seismic refraction and reflection.
