Commachio GEO205 The Commachio 205 is a light-weight track mounted rotary and percussive rig. With a weight of just 2.5te, a minimum width of 700mm and mast height of 2.6m, the rig is especially useful for sites with restricted access or where minimum environmental impact is required. The 205 is capabale of coring to up to 60mBGL and has been used extensively for drilling open holes for the installation of geothermal loops for ground source heat pumps to a depth of 70m. |
Commachio 450P The 450P is a medium-weight crawler mounted multi purpose rotary rig ideal for shallow-medium depth exploration, geothermal and site investigation drilling projects. The rig has been specially adapted for use on angled holes by and has the addition of a high-speed head suitable for hard-rock coring. The 450P is suitable for open hole drilling to depths of greater than 100mBGL and is capable of small diameter coring to over 150m. |

Diamond Drilling Equipment EMG maintains a large number of diamond drill rigs from manufacturers Longyear and JKS Boyles suitable for deep exploration drilling to over 100m depth. Capacity will be increased in 2008 with the addition of 2 new Sondeq SS71 and 2 new Atlas Copco CS14 diamond drill rigs. |
Mobile-drill B24 The B24 is a compact rotary rig suitable for a wide range of applications. In 2007 EMG successfully mounted the rig onto an ‘ampherol’ mud crawling craft (Residue All Terrain Vehicle) to undertake a sampling investigation of tailings material at a large bauxite refinery (pictured). |
